The Historic 2026 WPBL Inaugural Season
The 2026 WPBL season is not just another baseball event. It is the first real chapter of a new professional league built around women’s baseball talent, big-market teams, and a faster game format that should be easy for fans to follow from day one.
Four teams. One stadium. A fresh league. And a chance for women’s professional baseball to create its own identity.
One Main Venue: Robin Roberts Stadium
WPBL games are being played at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois. Having one central venue makes the first season easier to follow, with every matchup connected to the same baseball setting and schedule flow.
7-Inning Games
WPBL games are played over seven innings, giving the league a faster and sharper rhythm than a traditional nine-inning professional game. The shorter format keeps every inning important and makes early scoring, pitching decisions, and late-game pressure more meaningful.
Aluminum Bats
The league uses aluminum bats, which can create quicker contact, faster offensive swings, and a different style of game compared with wooden-bat baseball. For fans following scores and player stats, this adds another layer to team totals, run production, and game results.
Opening Day
The 2026 WPBL season begins on August 1, 2026. From Opening Day onward, fans can follow every game result, upcoming matchup, team movement, and standings update as the first professional WPBL season unfolds.
Meet the Four Founding WPBL Teams
The first WPBL season features four founding franchises: Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. Each team enters the league with its own market attention, roster questions, player storylines, and early-season pressure.
WPBL Star Players to Watch in 2026
The first WPBL season has plenty of names worth following, but a few players already stand out because of their history, talent, and search interest. These are the stars fans will be checking for in live scores, box scores, rosters, and season stats.
How We Update WPBL Scores and Standings
WPBL scores, results, and standings are updated as game information becomes available. Final results are added after games are completed, while upcoming matches remain listed with date, time, teams, and venue details.
Because this is a season-tracking guide, the goal is to make WPBL information easy to follow for fans who want one simple place for scores, schedules, team records, and player updates.

Queens at Hunters Early Preview: Boston Needs a Win, and LA Is Still Unbeaten
Boston has played two games and lost both, scoring seven runs while allowing 23. Los Angeles has played three, won all three, and scored 34. On paper, this is the league’s hottest team against the one still looking for its first win, and there is no honest way to dress that up. But look at…

Firebells at Heights Early Preview: New York Has Found Its Swing
San Francisco’s response since the first meeting has not helped its case. The Firebells followed the 13-8 loss to New York with a 12-3 defeat against Los Angeles on August 7. That result makes the defensive and pitching questions heading into the August 15 rematch even more important. New York spent opening night doing everything…

San Francisco Firebells at Boston Hunters Preview: Can Boston Answer the 11-3 Loss?
An 11-3 blowout usually signals a complete mismatch, but Boston’s August 2 loss to San Francisco left behind a far more complicated story than the final score suggests. The Firebells won 11-3 in the second game ever played in the Women’s Pro Baseball League, and even that score does not fully describe the gap. San…
